Job Summary
A Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, assisting customers, and supporting restaurant operations. This role ensures a smooth dining experience by helping both kitchen and service teams while maintaining hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Hygiene
- Maintain cleanliness of dining area, kitchen, and service stations
- Clean tables, crockery, glassware, and utensils
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards strictly
Service Support
- Assist waiters in serving food and beverages
- Set up tables with plates, cutlery, and napkins
- Refill water and clear used dishes quickly
Customer Interaction
- Welcome and greet customers politely
- Help customers with seating and basic queries
- Ensure customer satisfaction during dining
Kitchen Assistance
- Support kitchen staff in basic food preparation
- Wash dishes and operate dishwashing equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen tools and areas
Stock & Operations
- Refill supplies like napkins, trays, and condiments
- Assist in inventory and storage of materials
- Report damages or shortages to management
Skills Required
- Good communication skills
- Teamwork and coordination
- Basic customer service knowledge
- Physical stamina (long standing hours)
- Time management
Eligibility
- Minimum: 10th / 12th pass
- Experience: Fresher or experienced
- Hospitality training is an advantage
Salary
- ₹10,000 – ₹18,000/month (varies by restaurant & experience)
- Food & accommodation sometimes provided
Work Conditions
- Rotational shifts (morning / evening / night)
- Weekend & holiday work required
